Cherokee County Divorce Records

Records of divorce proceedings formally establish the end of marital ties and detail orders on property division, spousal maintenance, child custody, and other legal arrangements.

In Cherokee, divorce case filings and final divorce decrees are generally open to public inspection. Confidential items, such as banking information and custody evaluations, are, however, typically redacted before documents are released.

People can inspect case records or obtain plain or certified copies of a divorce decree by visiting or mailing the Cherokee County District Clerk.
